New England Ski Museum:
Eastern Slope Branch Expansion

New England Ski Museum, North Conway NH

Opened in February 2018, the New England Ski Museum’s Eastern Slope Branch is preserving the future of skiing’s past. The museum acquired a historically significant building in the center of North Conway, NH, an important New England ski town to expand its mission to the heavily visited Mount Washington Valley. The exhibit’s overarching focus is on how New England’s ski culture has retained its unique character and appeal over the years. Drawing upon well over 40 years of collecting museum visitors are treated to the regions deep connections to the sport.

The 4,400 square foot building also includes equipment and archives storage, a library, and a museum store. Transforming this site into a working museum involved structural remediation, design and installation of all utilities (HVAC, fire protection, security) appropriate for management.

This building and location will forever enhance the Museum’s influence and outreach.
